I
wrote this lesson to emphasize cultural diversity in science. Every 2nd grader was given a little card with a scientist's name, country, and accomplishment on it. My hope is that the children will know that anyone - boy or girl, from any part of the world - can be a
scientist. These came out so cute!! I love the creativity!! And I loved the conversations I overheard in class as they were making these - so cute!! We shared the creations with the class and learned about each scientist. The projects are displayed on the bulletin board in the Science Center along with a fitting quote I found, "It takes a world of difference to make a difference in the world." Great job second grade!!
