Students in grade K recently wrapped up a fun ocean unit addressing this NGSS standard:
We discussed 3 different types of ocean animals: mammals, fish, and invertebrates. We made blubber gloves out of lard to understand how marine mammals keep warm in the freezing ocean:
Then we learned about fish and the children made sharks:
Last, we discussed ocean invertebrates & made jellyfish:
Here are some of my awesome little marine biologists conducting buoyancy experiments using ocean creatures & mini- "oceans"!
